Imagine – low-energy cities
On June 11-12, 2014 Dobrich played host to fourth international seminar on project “INAGINE – LOW-ENERGY CITIES”. Above 40 experts in the scope of energy efficiency from France, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Romania, Denmark and Bulgaria discussed the problems for achievement of energy independence of cities and regions, and for the significance of the nearly zero-energy buildings in this process. Dr. Arch. Zdravko Genchev – Executive Director of Energy Efficiency Center “EnEffect”; the Mayor of Dobrich – Mrs. Detelina Nikolova; the Executive Directors of Sustainable Energy Efficiency Agency and Energy Efficiency and Renewable Sources Fund – Mr. Ivaylo Aleksiev and Mr. Dimitar Doukov, as well as Mrs. Kalina Nakova – the Executive Director of Municipal Energy Efficiency Network were at the event on behalf of Bulgaria.
The project IMAGINE – LOW-ENERGY CITIES is to be implemented by Municipality Dobrich together with “Energy Cities” (European Association of Energy Cities), the local bodies of Lille (France), Milton Keynes (Great Britain), Modena (Italy), Munich (Germany), Bistrita (Romania), Figueres (Spain), Odense (Denmark), as well as University of Hamburg (Germany). The project amounting to EUR 47 979,97 is financed under Operational Programme for interregional cooperation INTERRREG IVC, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
