The Bulgarian Parliament Approved Ammendments of the Energy Efficiency Act

Yesterday the Members of Parliament approved on first reading ammendments to the Energy Efficiency Act related to the country`s obligations in connection to the pre-accession talks with the European Union, in particular to chapter 3 “Freedom to Provide Services”.

The ammendments are directed towards further development of provisions as well as towards the harmonization and introduction of obligatory requirements foreseen in the Directives of the EU in the sphere of Energy Efficiency. Furthermore, the management functions of the Executive Director of the Energy Efficiency Agency in its role as executive body were enhanced through the broadening of the range of liable subjects.
