The Energy Efficiency Agency initiated national competition for Energy Efficiency in municipalities, in order to help the successful realisation of municipal projects in this area.

The winner of the competition will receive financing from the Bulgarian Energy Efficiency Fund (BgEEF). Deadline for submission of projects is the 15th of April 2006.

Eligibility Criteria: the projects must be implemented by the end of 2007; the investment must have a payback time of up to 5 years; the project cost must be less than BGN 3 million; at least 50% of the project benefits must come from measurable energy savings.
